Let visitors and members know what's going on! The calendar is always up-to-date, only displaying upcoming events. The formatting is already done; all you do is fill out a simple form to add events.

How do I add events to my calendar?
Access and edit the page where you would like to add a calendar app. Once you have added the calendar app to the page, click on the day you would like to create a new event and begin the event entry process.

How do I edit and delete existing events?
Click on the event name to edit the event's details. Should you need to delete an event click the 'Delete' button. Decide if you want to delete the entire event (if it's a recurring event) or just delete an exception to the series.

Can I edit instances of recurring events if just that day's events needs to be cancelled?
Yes. Click on the event name on the day you are wanting to edit or delete and uncheck the box that says 'update series'. This will allow you to edit just the single event instance.
Can I import events from my external calendar that I use such as Google Calendar or my Outlook?
Yes. Currently, this function is in BETA however we've been very pleased with its functionality. Click on the 'Settings' tab of your calendar page part and then you will see the area to import events from an external source. To import a feed such as Google Calendar, paste in your feed url in an .cal format. To import events from your local calendar program such as Outlook, Entourage, or Apple Mail, upload an .ics file of events.
How does the calendar work with the widget of 'upcoming events'?
The upcoming events widget will pull in events from any calendar page part on your site. You can specify events from an entire calendar or a specific category that you have associated events with. Read the upcoming events widget help article for more details.

Can I display the calendar as a list view?
Yes. Click on the 'Settings' tab of your calendar page part and you will see the available views and associated options with them. You can choose a 'calendar' view which will display the standard calendar grid, 'List', which is a simple listing of the events, or a 'detail list' view which will display a more detailed listing of each event on your page.

Below is an example of the 'Detail List' view that has been custom styled to match the look and feel of the website is was being used on.

What are calendar categories?
You can create categories for your calendar that you can associate to each event you create. This is done when adding or editing an event in the 'Optional Info' tab. Categories can then be used to filter your events on your calendar to just a specific category when visitors are viewing the calendar. This is also used for the 'upcoming events widget'.

Can I link up an event registration to an event calendar item?
Yes. When adding or editing an event, click on the 'Optional Info' tab and then see the 'Registration' area. This will display a drop-down list of all the registration page parts on your site. If a registration is selected, when someone is viewing this event, they will see an extra link labeled 'Register Now' which will direct them to the registration form.
