Editing Restrictions

You can restrict editing rights to a page by adjusting the settings inside the editing restrictions tab.  This allows you to specify, besides the owner of a page, who should be able to access and edit a page.

NOTE: You must first setup detailed editing permissions for users in the Settings > Users area of the system.
You then can navigate back to your page(s) and setup editing restrictions per page. Access the Settings > User Permissions help article by clicking here.

This is useful if you are trying to setup a permission set for particular pages for particular people.  For example, your youth minister should only be able to access and edit their page(s).  They can not add or delete pages, only modify the content on the pages assigned to them.  In this example, in the Settings > Users area of the system , you would edit this user's profile > permissions to have only "Modify" (edit) rights within the Pages area.  Then, you would go to Page and work with the Editing Restrictions tab for each page that they should have access to.

Working with Editing Permissions

First, access and edit the page that you are wanting to work with and then click on the 'Editing Permissions' tab in the lower right hand area of the screen below all of the page options.

Select the profile(s) that should be granted access to this page and then those users will instantly have editing rights to the page.

If you would like to use this same editing permission set for the child pages of the page you are working on click the "Apply to sub pages" button and the same editing rights will be applied down to the child pages of the main page you are working on.  This is useful if you will be creating the same editing rights for a section of pages as it will save you time by not having to create this set for each page in that section.
