General Page Editing
The Pages manager is where your site comes together. You can add pages to your site and then add page parts to those pages.
Adding Pages
- To add a new page to the top level navigation of your site, click the "+ SubPage" button under the main node (top page) in the sitemap. To add a new page to a section of pages, click the "+SubPage" link underneath the page you would like to add your page to.
- Give the new page a Name.
- Choose to
include the page in your site's navigation menus or not. If you choose
to not have this page appear in your menu's, it will still exist as a
page and visitors could potentially access it. If you are wanting to
create a restricted access page, you can view our help documentation
here.
- Choose the type of page that you would like to create.
- Content Page - this is a standard page on your site that you
would add content and page parts to. This is what you will use 95% of
the time which is why it is selected by default.
- Link Page - Setting your page to a link page will allow your "link" to have a page representation in your menus and sitemap. When clicked, it will link to whatever you create the link to do, internal page, external page, open a file, and more!
- Grouping Page - Decide
if you would like this page to group other pages. Grouping a set of
pages allows you to have 'sections' of pages that act as a group. If you choose this option, you will have two choices based on your page load preferences for this grouping page. An
example of a grouping page would be that of a 'Youth' Grouping page. Youth would be the
parent page, and its children would be subpages including PreTeens,
Teens, High Schoolers, and College Students.
- Choose the 'template' you would like this page to load
into when accessed. If you have a particular 'Youth' shell that you
want this page to load into, select that from your templates drop down!
- Click Add to quickly add this page to your sitemap so that you can create more pages and build out your sitemap. Click 'Add and Edit' to add the page and begin editing it instantly.
SiteMap
- You
can reorder the site navigation of your site by 'dragging and dropping'
your pages around in the sitemap. By default, when you create a page,
it is added to the bottom of the listing of your pages. Simply click
the name of the page, and while holding your mouse, drag the page to
the section of choice. Release your mouse, and the page will 'drop'
into that position. This will update your site's navigation layout as
well!
Editing Pages
- To edit a page, click the page name in your listing of pages. You will then be able to edit the page.
- When editing a page, you will see 4 main tabs.
- Content - The page parts (what your visitors actually see)
- Page Options - Set the Page Title, Shortcut, Meta Keywords, Meta Description, Visibility Settings, and more.
- Access Restrictions - Set viewing restrictions to the page.
- Editing Restrictions - Allow other administrators to be able to access and edit the page within the system . Each page has one owner which can edit the page. Everyone else has to be granted access to edit the page using this tab.
-
Click Here to move to our Page Parts Documentation! This is where you can read about working with each Page Part!
Deleting Pages
- To Delete a page, you must click on the page name as if you were going to edit it.
- Next, beside the page name, click the trashcan icon to delete this page and confirm. Your page will be removed.
