Managing Settings

When you access the Settings tab of your system you will see at the top of the screen a listing of sub tabs that will allow you to work in different areas of your site's settings.

Users

You can setup different users to have access to the ADMIN area to work on your site.  With each user you are able to work with their profile, password, and permissions. Each user will have an picture (small image), and an edit / delete option should you need to work with their profiles. You can also 'archive' users which allows you to temporarily disable their access and remove them from your user accounts, until you re-activate them.  This is useful, for example, if someone is leaving on maternity leave.  Their user profile can be temporarily archived until they return!

To add a new user to your account click on the 'Add New' button. Complete the profile information and permission set for the user.  An 'administrator' can access all areas of the system.  If this is unchecked the user is a standard user and can only access those permissions that are given to them. NOTE: For Pages this is a two step process and this is step one.  To see step two about editing restrictions read the help article by clicking here.

To edit a user, click on the 'Username' of the user to make adjustments to their profile.

To remove a user from your account, you can temporarily remove the user by checking the box to the left of the user's name and then click the 'Archive' button.  To remove the user completely, click the 'People' tab and access the 'Administrators' group.  Within the group find the profile you are wanting to delete, and click on the 'Username' link of that profile.  Within the profile, you will see a link at the bottom of the profile to 'Delete this Person'.

Merchant

If you will be accepting payments on your site from the different modules in our system such as the Store, Online Registrations, and Donations, you will be using Google Checkout account for payment processing.  Once you have created your merchant account, this is where you will add in your account information so that your site instantly integrates with the Google Checkout system!

Google Analytics

Inside the Settings tab of the system , this is where you can paste in your Google Analytics html script that was given to you when you created your Google Analytics account.  This allows Google to externally track your site's traffic activity on a daily basis and provide reporting to you. You will log into Google.com/analytics to view your reports. You will need to have and use a user@gmail.com email address to sign up and view your reports as Google is forcing this option. If your site is already using Google Apps for email, you will still need to create a @gmail.com email address to use.

You can access Google Analytics here....

Meta Values

Meta elements provide information about a given webpage, most often to help search engines categorize them correctly. They are inserted into the HTML document, but are often not directly visible to a user visiting the site. They have been the focus of a field of marketing research known as search engine optimization (SEO), where different methods are explored to provide a user's site with a higher ranking on search engines. In recent years, Meta Values (or Meta Tags) have declined in their importance to search engine optimization. You can input your values by separating each entry with a comma.

Site Wide Content

If you have an editable region within your site's design that should be dynamic across your entire website such as a site footer or side bar, then you will edit that information in one place.  If this pertains to you your account rep or project manager will let you know!  The functionality within this module is the same functions inside the Pages Module which you can read here!
