How do I add 'elements' into the banner app for rotation?
Once you've added the Banner Rotator page part to your page, click the 'Add New Element' button in the top right to begin creating new elements. An element is a slide within the banner rotation that can be an image or an embedded video (object) file such as a Youtube or Vimeo video.
How do I edit or remove media elements?
When viewing the banner rotator page part, you will see a listing of slides (elements) that have been inserted. Clicking the trash can icon to the right of the element will delete the slide from your elements list. To edit the slide, select the name of the element. Rearrange the order of the elements by selecting the three horizontal lines to the left of the element and then drag and drop them into the new order.
Can banner elements exist but not be visible in the rotation?
Yes, you are able to unpublish a slide. The unpublished state means that the slide and its associated content exists within the banner rotator on the admin side, but the public cannot see it. You can publish the element again to include it in your public rotation.
You even have the ability to set a particular time period for your element to publish or unpublish itself. This is useful if you have a lot of slides that should exist in your rotation but you only want to show a certain set for a particular time period and then revert back to other slides without having to rebuild the elements again. When working with each slide, you will see a checkbox for 'Published'. When checked, the date range will apply and the slide will display during that date range. If unchecked, the slide will not be included in the rotation.
Can I adjust the speed of the delay and transition of the slides?
Yes. When viewing the 'Settings' tab of the Banner Rotator page part, you will see a section for 'Options'. This will allow you to set and adjust the speed of delay, transition, and transition type.
What are the transition effects that I can choose from?
The Banner Rotator features a slide (left, right, up, or down) and a fade transition type. These can be selected in the main 'Settings' tab of the page part and then within the 'options' section.
Does the Banner Rotator support video files?
Yes. You will use the HTML5 video formats, which are MP4 - http://www.w3schools.com/html/html5_video.asp
If you'd like your video to populate a specific area of your site (filling in the top portion of your site from left to right), you will need our design team to configure this area for you first. Please submit a support ticket or contact your Account Manager so that we can assess your needs on a site to site basis.
I can't find my Banner Rotator page part. Where is it?
Your Banner Rotator page part is always accessible in the Page Part Management section. If active, the Banner Rotator has been installed on a page, generally in the Top Content Area.
Sometimes there are Page Parts installed on the Sitewide Settings section of your site. You might want to go to Settings > Appearance > Site Wide Content. The Page Parts are loaded into the various content areas of the site. Banner Rotators tend to be installed on the Top Content Area.
