Our Calendar V2 offers you the most flexibility in promoting your organization's events. You have several options for repeating events, formatting your event's description, and setting locations.

When you install the Calendar V2 to your page, the default view is of a calendar grid. To add a new event, select the "Add New Event" in the upper right hand corner of the page part.
Some fields are required to save an event, such as the Event Title, the Start and End Time, and the date of the event. Once you enter values there, you will be able to select the "Save Event" button that exists in both the Top right hand corner and the bottom right hand corner of the Calendar V2 page part.
This is the title that will display on the calendar to promote your event.
Start and End Time
Select your Start Date and your End Date for your event. Generally, your event will only last one day, so when you select a date, the End Date will automatically populate to match the Start Date. If your event is from 9 pm on Saturday until 2 am on Sunday, then it would be appropriate to have a Start Date of June 9 and End Date of June 10. However, if your event is a multi-day festival, you can set your event up one of two ways:
- Multi-day event: This event is not necessarily set to repeat, it is an event that may last consecutive days. You could have an event begin on a Friday night and end on a Sunday morning. The event will display on the calendar every day it exists, and the date range will display the Start and End times as you set it. (see screenshot immediately below)
- Repeating Event: You can set the same event to repeat with the same details based on the date parameters you set. See below for more regarding Repeating Events.
All Day Event - if you select "All Day Event," it will display the date and no time next to the event on the public facing side of the calendar.
No End Time - If you select "No End Time," it will not display an end time on the public facing side of the calendar, just like this:
Set your time zone where the event is based. Website visitors see event times based on their device's time zone setting. You can select your timezone from the dropdown list. Every possible time zone is available for you to select.
You have many options for repeating events. The default option is "No repeat." You can set an event to repeat daily, weekly, monthly, yearly. Within those options, you can set it to repeat "until" a particular date. So for example, you can set a date to being on August 15, 2018 and repeat daily UNTIL September 1, 2018. Then the event will not display publicly or repeat again after September 1, 2018.
You can also set an event to repeat once every X days rather than daily. You can also set an event to repeat once every X weeks rather than weekly. If you choose this option, SiteWrench will ask you which day of the week you'd like this to repeat weekly on. It's important that you type a date in that box and then use the "x" symbol to remove a day of the week if it's the incorrect day. If you have an event that repeats on the Second Monday of every month, you can set that up as well. Watch this little gif below for examples.
If you do not add a shortcut, Sitewrench will create a URL (web link) for your event based on its ID, so it is a random string of numbers. When you send the link to your website visitors, it will look something like this by default:
If you use the provided field to add in a Shortcut URL, this allows you to replace that string of numbers with a more friendly URL. In this case, "awesome-event" is the shortcut URL.
If you use the checkbox to select "Redirect event link to another URL," this will allow you two options:
- Link your calendar event to an existing page on your site. Let's say you have a special fundraiser for your organization and you have built out a landing page with all of your sponsor information and fundraiser information. You can create a calendar event for that fundraiser and Redirect that event link to that internal Fundraiser landing page. That way when people select the Fundraiser on your calendar, they will get to the appropriate page. This is much easier than you having to recreate that information twice on your site!
- Link your calendar event to a URL. This would allow you to link out to a totally different website. When people select this calendar event on your website, they would be sent somewhere else entirely.
Add an Existing Sitewrench Location
The existing Sitewrench locations is an option if you have set up previous locations through a page part like our Locator Map page part. The Locator map uses addresses to list locations on a map, so we're just making it easier for those users to pull those without having to enter them all over again.
Optionally link out an address to Google Maps
You can enter in the full address if you have one and use that checkbox to "show map link in event" if desired, it'll display that "View map" link to take people out to Google Maps.
Use a Location Name
The Location Name field is very useful, as it'll allow you to give a nickname to a location if people don't recognize the address.can also be used without you having to enter in an address, so you can enter in an internal building name and number without entering an address. For example:

Location Name: Building C (no address provided)
Your Calendar can be coded to display that Location Name when people see the event in your list view, or when they hover over the event on your calendar grid. If you do not see your Location Name pulling through, please submit a support ticket and let our team know you'd like this option available.
You can add directions that will display to your website visitors when they view an event. This may be very useful if you are directing people to an internal building on a campus.
Use our description box to enter in details about your event. This description box is using our WYSIWYG editor, which means you can use your existing web tools to format your font, add links, images. Learn more about our WYSIWYG editor.
Use Global Tags to categorize an event
You can create new tags to add to an event, or you may use an existing global tag. Start typing in that field to see if a tag exists. If one exists, it will display in a scrollable dropdown list so that you may select the one you want. A tag is added if it exists as a blue tax with an "x." To remove a tag, simply click that "x" to clear it out and save the event. Learn more about global tags.
A calendar event may have an image associated with it. This image displays when you view the event in the calendar list view, or when you hover over the event in the calendar grid view. You can select a file that exists in your Sitewrench files. Unsure how to upload images to Sitewrench? Learn more about our Files section.
The event contact information is public, so please be aware of this when you enter in someone's email address. These fields are optional, but they are helpful in getting your website visitors to the correct person for answers regarding an event.
